NEO TEAM UPDATE

CHURCHES PRAYING FOR OTHER CHURCHES

I’m encouraging every church across NEOK to pray for at least one other church each week this year.
It can be during your weekly prayer meeting, Sunday morning worship service, early morning prayer, etc.
Whichever works best for your schedule is the goal. You can contact the district office for an updated
Prayer List to stay on track and let your fellow pastors know you are praying for them. In addition, you
can find photos of most pastors on the My District app that was used for Assembly and get creative.
Just imagine what God has in store as we continue to hold one another up in prayer!

Jim Thornton
District Superintendent

MINISTRY FORUM

We’re working to provide a great event that will Inspire, Encourage, and Equip you! Bring your
whole  ministry team—you’ll be glad you did!

We have an incredible lineup of guest speakers with Bobby Gruenewald and Steve DeNeff. And don’t forget to check out the full list of breakout sessions. We are excited about offering Spanish-only breakout sessions, as well as providing Spanish translation for some of our larger breakout session topics. Nos entusiasma ofrecer sesiones exclusivamente en español, así como proporcionar traducción al español para algunos de los temas de nuestras sesiones de mayor envergadura.

Scholarship assistance is available for any Pastor or Church Leader who could benefit from this. Please contact Jim Thornton asap for more information.

CHURCH INSURANCE UPDATE

Many of our churches are in the process of exploring a new approach toward providing insurance
coverage for their property.  The Ministry Response Network just might be the answer you are
looking for. If you would like more information on how this works, please contact Jim Thornton.

Pastors and staff, we trust you are making plans now to attend the Ministry Team Retreat
in October. There will be great moments of inspiration and encouragement… plus a good
amount of fun!  Click the graphic below to register no later than
Monday, September 21st!

ANNUAL WRITTEN GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS

Pastors, each year we ask you to send in your Annual Written Goals and Expectations by August 15.
For those who have already done so, thank you so much. If you haven’t done so, you are encouraged
to make this part of your September focus with your church board.  You can access this form on the
District Toolbox link here.

Ignite the Cause

January 3-6, 2027 | Oklahoma City, OK

Are you ready to discover God’s unique call on your life?

Ignite the Cause is a trans formative experience for young adults (ages 18-28) who want to become global Christians and participate in God’s mission in the world. Whether you’re exploring missions for the first time or seeking clarity on your next steps, this event is designed to help you answer three essential questions:

· What does God’s Word say?

· What is God doing in the world?

· What is he asking me to do?

Over four days, you’ll engage in inspiring worship, hear from dynamic speakers, choose from practical workshops, and connect with other young adults who share your passion for God’s Kingdom. You’ll explore missions in the Church of the Nazarene, hear compelling stories from around the globe, and discover how God has uniquely equipped you for his purposes.

Through mentorship, discernment opportunities, and hands-on service in partnership with the local church, you’ll leave with greater clarity about your calling and tangible next steps—whether that’s local ministry, cross-cultural service, or global mission.

Registration:

April – September 30: $239

October 1 – October 15: $259

All young adults who desire to follow Jesus into the world are encouraged to attend. Register here.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND CONVENTIONS
JUNE 25 – JULY 2, 2027

As you plan to attend General Assembly & Conventions next year, consider participating in Love Your Neighbor,
a missions service opportunity that allows you to actively serve communities while we gather as a global family. The week before General Assembly, 20-27 June 2027, you will have the opportunity to serve locally in Kansas City, or globally from where you are in a number of ways, including church planting, construction, Vacation Bible School (VBS) and sports camps.

Love Your Neighbor is an excellent way to participate in a mission trip while also experiencing General Assembly & Conventions! You can participate as an individual, a family or with a group from your church or district. Start planning now to be a part of Love Your Neighbor!

Pre-registration is open now! Event registration will open in September. Space is limited, so be sure to register as soon as possible.

Contact LYN@nazarene.org for more information.

THANK YOU

The past couple of months have been quite a whirlwind of activity as we are getting settled
into this new role. Your gracious words of encouragement and prayer support mean more to
us than you can possibly know. It is truly a privilege to partner with you as we seek God’s face
together. Yes, we are praying for you… and we’d like to know how we can do so in specific ways.
Please send us any prayer request (private or public). We are in this together!
