We believe the prepared minister is an educated minister. That education may take several paths.
We encourage ministers in training to attend a Nazarene institute of higher education (such as Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK or Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO) and then go on to Nazarene Theological Seminary (in Kansas City, Mo) for graduate studies. Others may wish to utilize services such as NBC Online. However, we realize that not everyone is able to do that, especially those who are called to ministry in later years or with established families. That is where we come in.
OSM-NEO offers course work that is designed to meet minimum educational requirements for ordination as set forth by the Church of the Nazarene. Our classes are based on two formats that have been approved by the church’s governing body.
- The OSM is part of the Alliance of NBC (Nazarene Bible College) and offers courses approved by NBC.
- The OSM also offers courses (Modular Course of Study) generated by our church headquarters.
All classes meet for a set time (typically meeting 3 hours per week for 10 weeks). Class sessions are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
