NEO Team Update

Message from the DS

Dear NEO family,

“The NEO District Church of the Nazarene is made of up of 45 interdependent local churches, organized to facilitate the mission of each local church through mutual support, the sharing of resources and collaboration.”

I love seeing the way we collaborate and join together in fellowship and mission! In March, we have already had two outstanding district events – Kid’s Mission Day and  Prime Time Spring Fling. Our host churches, Regency Park and Sapulpa, were outstanding. The events were fun, inspirational and allowed us to time to interact with others on the District family. Today we will have two other gatherings for our District family. Our youth will be going to Southern Nazarene University for Extravaganza, an annual gathering for worship, talent, Bible Quizzing and Sports. I am thankful for a church that invests in our children and youth. And some of our women will be gathering tonight at Core Church for a night of refreshment and renewal. Saturday, Wagoner will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary from 1 – 4pm. And on Sunday, our restart church in Coweta will be celebrating a milestone as the church is “organized”.

NEO family, we really do need one another! We are better together!

We are called to join Nazarenes across USA and Canada in another Call to Prayer, April 20 – June 8 (Easter to Pentecost). God is using these times of prayer to give guidance and power to the Church in North America. These prayer times have led us to our vision of A Cycle of Resurgence and empowered us to begin to see numerical growth on the Region. Let’s join together in prayer in 2025 regarding Bringing People to Jesus.

We are one month away from the end of the Church Year. Local churches are preparing end of the year reports and having nominations for and elections of leaders for the new year. All local church reports are due on May 12. District entities are also preparing reports and having nominations. If you have people you would like to nominate for District Advisory Board, Discipleship Board or Board of Ministry, let me know within the next week. Elections will be at our District Assembly on June 7 in Bartlesville.

It is great to be a part of the NEO family with you!

Dave McKellips, District Superintendent
